    HI,

I'm thinking of getting my attic done. The house is about 35 years old, semi d. with a hipped roof and chimney. Has anyone had conversions done recently around Dublin and could recommend anyone who does this? Also, anyone able to give me approx. costs? I'd need a permanent stairs versus the folding ones, plus velux type windows. I'll have to move a hotpress and cold water tank (plus rad. expansion tank).

    Any adivce would be welcome!

    hi,
www.atticconversions.ie will give you a quote over the web
just give them a few dimensions.

the main part is the height with which you have to work with.
and access to side of house to get a one-piece RSJ into the attic space.
If you have a house beside you then they will have to connect 3 or 4 pieces of RSJ together inside your attic brought up through the attic door.

moving the hot-press or tanks is no major task for these folks or putting in a stairs..

    for a 3 bed semi I got a quote of €18k
