GeForce 6600GT(211 EUR) vrs GeForce 6800LE (251 EUR)

which is better card and best value for the money

iI looked at this site http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/gffx/nv43-p05.html

and thought the 6800LE seems to be the better card and plus i have read it can be firware updated for much more performance. but nearly every forum i browsed through recomend the 6600GT as the best value for money and always compare it to a 6800 (288 EUR)

6600GT: 8 pipe card with 128-bit memory. Is about 20-25% faster than the similarly priced 9800 Pro, but its 128-bit memory cripples it's antialiasing performance, knocking it back down near 9800 speeds when high levels of antialiasing are on. Still a great card though for the price, but nowhere near the 6800 or x800 series.

6600 GT: 8 pipes, 128-bit GDDR3 memory. 500mhz core, 1000mhz memory.

6800 LE: 8 pipe card which can often mod to a full 12-pipe 6800 non-ultra, and sometimes even 16 pipes (making it a great deal for the price). Barely faster than the 9800 Pro/XT, but can pack quite a punch when modded.

6800 LE: 8 pipes, 256-bit DDR1 memory. 320mhz core, 700mhz memory.

why not just buy a 9800pro\xt? what are the advantages of a 6600GT\6900LE besides being a tiny bit faster?

well the 6600GT and the 9800pro being similarly priced so there would be no reason to purchase the 9800pro when it consistenly has better or equal performance across the board.

the 6600GT and 6800LE issue is an interesting one though

Would have to go for the 6800 LE its 256 bit grantes maybe a 9800xt would be better but you can overclock a 6800LE a bit better the reports say

What price is a 9800XT and has anybody seen any bench test with the 6600Gt or 6800LE compared. Links please. As far as I understood ATI don’t have any card in the same price region that compeats with these cards
