    folks,
Im trying to delete a power on password that has been forgotten by somebody. The type of laptop is a fujitsu siemens liteline notebook. I Have attempted to use generic passwords wihout any look. I have also attempted to use one of those "password" cracker floppy's as well the problem there is that im prompted for the password before the floppy is booted. I checked the fujitsu website for a manual to open up the laptop and reset the cmos settings but there is no help there. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it-- Im all out of ideas at the moment!

you will probably have to contact the tech support for the laptop.
They are not as simple as a pc most don't have a hardware reset.

Do laptops not still use a bios battery?

In a PC, you just remove the bios / cmos coin style battery for a few seconds, and blammo, password's gone (also, bios settings go back to defaults).
