Well for a start we need to know what army your collecting, and what squad its for, ie: and ork shoota boy is not going to pose the same way a slugga boy is, etc. More info means more help :)

Space marines just a basic squad.

Well for Space Marine tactical squad, you would probably be best looking up pics of action films, as marines are mostly a shooty army, any sort of pose with them leaning back a tad with gun forward looks pretty decent, getting the head to look in the direction of the gun goes a long way for shooty troops too, but for any sort of dramatic pose's theres really very little you can do with marines, as their a very static looking army unless your doing assault troopers or Space Wolves or something.

Posing isn't going to make your army original as the new models are so very posable already. Chapter history and conversions oughtta do it. But with Marneus Calgar in terminatot armour, I'd be just dandy about making a Ultramarines 1st.

In a recent edition of White Dwarf, they did a great piece on positioning space marines. It went from simple positioning to simple convertions to using green stuff in complex convertions. Some nice pieces. If you can drop into games workshop, they usually have a large back catalogue of White Dwarves.

Ehhh, cant remember the month, but it was really recent (within last 2 months) and had a pic of Gollum on the front.

Are the Space Marines allowed in the rule book to have two pistols?
Because you could do him leaning back with them in his hands and he would look dandy. :)

I dont think two pistols are allowed but that never stopped me from shooti'n up my orks!

One thing I liked doing with my Khorne Beserker models was give them a plasma pistol and a bolt pistol on a couple of them, I done one guy in a Cypher pose, with the sword on his back, he looked rather cool as hell :) But unless you play tournies alot, dont worry about being totally rule bound when converting, many troops of mien (particularly Knorne Beserkers, so convertable) arent even remotely legal by the rule book, but they still look cool, just count them as standard troops and your grand IMO.

"Counts as a close combat weapon" can cover a multitude of things.

Reminds me of my plan for the berserker with the deamonic rubber chicken conversion <G>

'Count as' in general is possably the most useful rule in the game, I wanted to try out a deamon prince, oh lookie an avatar, you'll do, etc. And using chaos bikes for Juggernauts because bikes blow, and Juggernauts rock like something awful :)

Whenever I try anything like that I either glue my finger to it or it just doesnt stick. I have enough trouble with ravenors who refuse to go a single journy without breaking in half. The Red Terror needs gluing almost everytime he goes in the box!

    entry12-5.jpgentry12-2.jpg
Follow the file path of these pics to see others but those two are by far the best. www.coolminiornot.com is also a good place to source ideas

I urge you to check out the 40K preview section on the GW site. The new Marneus Calgar and his honour guard models are up for ogling, and they're a vast improvement over the previous ones. Stunning!
