    If Rory or Lowry don't win, I hope Rose does. Lowry will probably finish in the top 10. With Rory anything could happen. He might win it or then again might miss the cut.

    Hard to see Lowry winning it, unless he manages to get into a fairly big lead. Past demons I can imagine being too much at this stage, even if he has a major win already.

    I think Rory will be quite distracted and enjoying the festivities, and rightfully so.

    European winner hopefully, that'd be nice. Once theres a certain few who'd dont win it anyway

    Yeh. Hopefully a European winner. Of the Americans, I can see Bryson going close.

    Bryson or Rahmbo if Scottie or Rory don't win it. Morikawa and Shuffles won't be far away. Like to see Matt Fitz, Rose or Bob Mac win it if our Irish boys can't do it.

    Reports in the athletic this morning, Morikawa didnt hit a full shot on his practice round yesterday and walked the back 9. Looks like his back injury either hasnt healed or it's back giving him hassle

    A difficult Masters to call this year I have to say. Normally you'd be saying Scottie but his form recently is a bit of a worry. We don't know where Rory is and I always wonder with the guys on LIV if they are getting enough competition to win a major. If thy are then I think it maybe Rahm or Bryson. I'd love Rory to go back to back and he has a chance. It really seem wide open this year though which is compelling

    There has been an epidemic of fake (clickbait) headlines suggesting that the tee times have been announced. As of 15:50 today (Tue) they have not yet been posted but you wouldn't know that if you Google 'masters tee times'. Only when you click on any of the results will you find that they are completey misleading headlines. .

    Irish Times Monday at 18:00 … Masters 2026: Tee times, what TV channel is it on, Augusta weather, players to watch

    ==========================

    Most brazen lie: pgatour.com ….. 2026 Masters: Tee times, groupings announced for Rounds 1-2

    but within the article: Check back here for Rounds 1-2 tee times for the 2026 Masters, which will be published as soon as they are announced.

    ==========================

    golf.com 2026 Masters viewer’s guide: Tee times for rounds 1 and 2, TV schedule, streaming

    ==========================

    and lots more golf websites, some of whom do this shamelessly before every tournament.

    Some great pairings near the end of the day, so Thursday night should be great viewing. Pity Rory is out during working day.

    On the flipside, finish work Friday and have time to get dinner in before Shane and Rory start the round

    Augusta weather forecast for Thursday to Sunday so far is looking like it will be absolutely perfect with bucketloads of sunshine little wind and rising temperatures, bring on the entertaining firm fast treacherous greens!

    Hopefully either Rory or Shane go well, would just add a nice bit to the viewing to have one of them in contention.

    Be great to see them do well alright.

    Even tho I didnt pick any of them on my Pools team..head vs heart scenario

    Fast hard greens predicted for the week, should keep it tight and entertaining.Rahm Fitz and Reed are my 3 picks

    Bryson putting like a demon recently.

    I also think past champions will do well given green speeds and their proven familiarity, if like of Bubba can get to the greens near regulation anything can happen, I think Bubba actually led the field in putting last year

    Watching this yesterday to get in the mood, cannot believe this is 30 years old…remember watching this as an 18 year old with my late father, who as he went off to bed with 9 holes to go, said "Yerrah surely even Norman can't bollix this one up now!" 😆

    Nice start Lowry, unreal approach on 1 for tap in birdie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,577 ✭✭✭Barnaboy

    And he has just hit two good shots into the second for an outside look at eagle. Very encouraging opening from him.

    Birdie, Birdie start for the Offaly man - nice.

    Double bogey for Lowry..undoes the great start

    Looking on the app his tee shot was just in the fringe. How has he managed to 4 putt from there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,996 ✭✭✭Trampas

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,577 ✭✭✭Barnaboy

    You can see every shot on the app. Decent second shot, was only a few feet. But then bulled one 6 ft past and missed the putt back. Disastrous double out of nowhere.

    Rory makes a miracle birdie on 2....
