Didn't seem to be a thread about this that I could see.

    Anyway...

Saw none of the support. I heard off people that Denzel Curry went down well.

Thought Deftones were great. Well suited to the arena level. Very cool light show as well. Chino is doing good for a man of 53.

Crowd was one of the widest mix of people I can remember seeing at a "metal" gig. Grizzled veterans to teenagers.

I thought it was an excellent gig. The sound was maybe the best I've experienced across many 3 arena gigs and the crowd were really into the gig from start to finish. Chino got some workout running about the stage. Set list was quite heavy on private music, but I knew that going in and it didn't bother me.

I agree with your comment regarding the diverse audience. There were young kids sitting behind me and the audience where I was seated was young overall and slightly more women than men. It seems they've picked up a lot of fans in recent years. Great to see people discovering new (old) music!

Yeah, I knew they were leaning heavily into the new album, but the new album is fairly good, so that's okay!

Obviously they've gotten much bigger in the last few years and, yeah, you can say it's all about tik-tok, but I want to give the band the credit: they've just been such a strong and consistent act for decades. It's like the world finally caught onto the fact that they're a truly great band.

There's really nobody else like them, especially this far into a career.

All their other alt rock/metal/nu metal contemporaries are getting by on past glories, but these guys are bigger than ever and still bringing it in terms of fresh music that people want to hear. Maximum respect.

Did they swap in Swerve City on the set? Have tickets for the Kilmainham show and its one of my favourite tunes from Deftones

Was Stephen Carpenter there on guitar?

No, there was a different guitar player. SC doesn't tour these days outside of the US and - possibly - Canada as well.

That's what I thought alright - the guy stage left sure looked like him from my vantage point.

    Thanks for the confirmation 👍

Interesting, so both Prodigy and Deftones are playing/played The Three Arena at the start of this year and then are both playing again in IMMA five days apart in August.

He did look like his doppelganger for sure, but, no definitely some other guy.

    SC is an... interesting.... person.

Yeah he's Luke Jackman he seems to be channeling Steph in more ways than one for sure now.

Had caught them in this guise before at a festival his backing vocals were more on point this time around even I thought.

I was at the Berlin date.

Not sure if it was the set but Chino seemed to strap on a guitar for more times than I ever recall in the past too.

To answer an earlier question I got Llabia played instead of Swerve.
