This is a man of great intelligence with the figure of Herbert Morrison in his family who has apparently let down his country by leaking sensitive government information to a third party.

Does this make much sense or is this Spy vs Spy territory?

Could Mandy be a sacrificial lamb at this stage or are the sad pathetic facts more or less what they appear on the surface?

After all he is not the only sadly pathetic character in this ongoing storyline.

It's fairly evident that he was neck deep in trading the influence of his position for both favours and for position with international banks and consultancies in his post political career.
