Digiweb is disappointing

I changed my contract with DIGIWEB from Fritzbox 1GB to 2 GB Zyxel DX330...

So it should be considerably faster... but the speed is sometimes even slower, and uninterrupted Netflix viewing is also no longer possible.

Has anyone here had/have the same experience with this ? Did already complain…but till yet they didn't take me serious and wanted me to believe that I would be the problem !

    Thanks for your time

writing in BOLD makes it stand out - not necessary in the right way, but i feel your frustration.

What means of connection you on during the test? Wired vs wireless

When I upgraded from 1Gb fibre to 2Gb Siro, the engineers from Siro actually installed a 1Gb router :(. It took 2 weeks of back and forward with Digiweb before they determined that actually the installation was wrong and that Siro needed to come back out (not Digiweb's fault). So double check you are getting 2Gb speeds.

You'll need the right hardware (a 2.5 gig ethernet card, or wifi 7 router and associated wifi 7 devices for example) in order to get that extra speed.

For me the speed increase is noticeable.

I have no need for a meaningless, patronizing response…this reads better for me…simple. Wired vs wireless is not the point here…I was asking something different…have a good one !

Wired versus wireless is a very pertinent question. If you don't want any help finding a solution then I understand.

P.S. If you typed in bold when complaining to Digiweb no wonder they didn't take you seriously.

I have Zyxel router too and nothing to compare it against but average enough in terms of Wifi is my experience.

Is the Fritzbox 7530AX the gold standard offering from FTTH providers?

    thanks

the Fritzbox 7530AX is quite old and WiFi 6

FRITZ!Box 4690 would be more appropriate for Irish FTTH these days.

    • 1 x 10-gigabit WAN
    • 1 x 10-gigabit LAN
    • 3 x 2.5-gigabit LAN
    • Wi-Fi 7 (with mesh)

Effectively that's very similar spec to what Eir's providing using Sagemcom own-brand kit.
