Why is My BBC Iplayer Not 4k?

Just sat down to watch my new TV, thanks Richer, well pleased, Set up was mostly performed by Ai which asked for your postcode, and says " Now clear off I'll do the rest!

I didn't think I was seeing any 4k content on the Iplayer, and the little UHD logo was nowhere to be seen.

It would appear that some older firesticks, and some Sky Q boxes do not support UHD on the Player.

No doubt the TV itself will rectify this if I sign in,but I'd much prefer to use the firestick remote, too many buttons on a TV remote these dark nights.

I got into trouble previously and warned off for wondering if some tech was,Dying,or being killed?,and put into Conspiracy threads for less.

    Hi Reboot.

I would try signing into the BBC iPlayer on the TV just to check if it will stream in 4K.
It maybe as you say the older firestick can not stream in 4K.

Have a go via the TV and keep me posted.

    Hey Reboot.

    Give the BBC player

r onboard the TV a whirl and it should hopefully play in 4K.

    Hi Reboot.

Are you in NI and have the region set to UK?

Will check again thanks. My cunning plan to take analogue audio from headphone socket failed as the o/p is obviously taken from before any digital audio set ups like EQ.

Not sufficient quality to suit the existing 2.1 analogue amp set up,so back to optical out to Tibo. No ARC hdmi amp so far but Tibo from yourselves sufficient, thanks.

    Stranger Things,and Inductive reasoning?

Went back to optical sound output,Tosslink fibre to Tibo Amp input,Audio Pro speakers.

Every 5 seconds or so a loud Click could be heard on both channels ,making listing impossible.

The Hisense tv has 4 verticle hdmi sockets with the RF aerial socket below.

The firestick has a short hdmi extension lead to aid insertion into the socket.

I had plugged the firestick into hdmi one,the lower socket, this meant the firestick itself was lying on the RF aerial lead, and although the input selected on the TV was hdmi one,and not RF, the clicks were being induced into the audio via the RF aerial lead!

Problem simply solved by replugging the firestick into the top socket well away from the aerial lead,

My previous Samsung TV had the RF aerial socket placed a good distance from any other input socket, interesting.

Still working on Freely sorting, getting BBC iplayer, but unable to sign into anything else, which I guess t least means I'm in UK settings.

Finally I wrote a long glowing report/ survey 5 stars on Richer experience, only to find it wouldn't go via Trust Pilot code and was lost,I clicked for another code, but no reply.

    Stranger Things.

    Hi Reboot.

That is strange but at least moving it to a different HDMI sorted that issue.

Hopefully you can get things sorted with Freely etc…..

Any further issues please keep me posted.
