Nothing wrong with criticizing Zohran on his policies and whether he can implement them in what's likely to be a hostile environment if he wins, but the racism it has triggered from MAGA has been deeply unpleasant, for that reason alone I hope he wins.

There is a chasmic difference between them. One is a pretty bog standard politician and one is currently dismantling everything the US used to stand for and destroying the very threads holding the country together. That is a bit different from promising rent controls.

Virginia Governor looks like it's flipping to the Democrats and quite substantially.

Her opponent spent millions on anti trans advertisements and well yeah that didn't work out.

It would be silly to read to much into these results, those who voted Dems haven't turned into hardcore leftists overnight, heck plenty of them may vote GOP in the near future, but "its the economy stupid" is still as relevant as ever in 2025 and after voters got the fake populism of Trump, their is an opening here for the dems to do very well.

Mamdani elected MoNY.That was the 'easy part.

This lad is of the 'left wing' Democrat,Muslim, x rapper born Uganda and his main plank for getting elected was to reduce the cost of living in NYC …state subsidies for stores …free public transport… reduced rents etc.

What interests me now is ..can he achieve his promises?

It will be a bit comparable with our situation in Ireland where the left wing have been promising broadly similar stuff.

Lets see if the implementation matches the rhetoric.

I wish him luck with that.
