Bits of Old Jewellery

My mother & aunt have both passed on. After sorting out their things & distributing everything as requested, I’m left with a selection of bits of jewellery. Some rings, watches, earrings & brooches. They sold most things of high value in the years before they died but there are what look like a few nice rings & a good bit of 1950s costume jewellery. There’s also a lot of cannibalised brooches, pendants etc as, in his retirement, my uncle frequented car boot sales, auctions or estate sales & his hobby was to make or reset a lot of nice pieces for my aunt, all of which were sold.

So, there’s a bit of a mish mash of gold & silver things really that might only be worth the melting down value but where would I find out & maybe sell them? The local jewellers said they weren’t interested in valuing or buying. If there was somewhere in the Wicklow / Wexford area, that’d be great.

There’s not much point in me keeping any of it as I’ve had it all for several years without wearing any of the intact pieces so maybe it’s time to let go.
