    Hi,

Does anyone here use loperamide hydrochloride (Imodium/Arret) daily to manage IBS? If so, how do you find it?

I've been having persistent diarrhea which my GP has put down to IBS and has told me to consider taking loperamide hydrochloride daily to help manage the symptoms.

I know I can buy the likes of Imodium/Arret over-the-counter. Is there generic versions that are available with prescription? If so, what are the costs?

If I do decide to take 2 daily, that's around 5 packs per month/€60.00.

6 tablets for 49p in Savers in the North.

Lot cheaper than what you are looking at if you are close to the border.

If not, could you order online?

60 Imodium is on the PCRS reimbursement list for 5.52 for 60, so would be about 9 euro as a prescription.
