Unless things change drastically I csnt see either of these going much further

The 49ers at least would have something of an excuse

Unless the eagle's stutter their way into getting going properly in the next round

Well done to the injury ravaged 49ers. But that was horrific again from the Eagles. 4th and 11 season on the line and Hurts throws into triple coverage.

Unbelievable resilience from the 49ers to pull through after losing Kittle early on.
Not Phillys year, never looked like it at any point this season. They will be back

Happy to see the 49ers progress. Eagles have been pretty dour to watch this season.

That's four incredibly close games now. Great weekend. Wouldn't mind a Patriots blowout here so I can get more than two hours sleep tonight!

I'm loving my Patriots after that. I'd expect we'll be favourites to win the AFC now.

You reckon? Defence played great, but a lot to improve on in offence. Maye needs to learn to just give up a sack sometimes. Could really struggle against Houston next week.

Chargers gave up an average of 17 points over their last six games, with the highest points 20, so I'm not worried about the offense. They have one of the best defenses in the league.

We have it on offense, on defense and special teams.

I have no issues with 49ers beating the Eagles. To lose Kittle so early along with their other injured players and still play as they did, they absolutely deserved it.

This wasn't going to be the Eagles year again, that much was evident from before the halfway point of the season. Still a strong team base to work off for next year, but as hesitant as I am to say Jalen Hurts needs yet another new OC, Kevin Patullo has to go. Sirianni also needs to take a deep look at what his own actual gameplan is, because just playing not to turn the ball over means nothing if the Eagles are failing 3rd downs and handing the ball back so often anyway.

And at this point, AJ Brown is surely gone. Mister "They're not throwing me the ball enough" then drops it at a key moment. Hear he hugged a bunch of teammates in the locker room and then left early. He's done. He was toxic for the team for most of the season.

49ers had the Eagles beat in so many different parts of the game, some fantastic plays from them which caught the Eagles out, great discipline to not give away many penalties, and McCaffrey was awesome as per usual. It was a great game and Niners definitely deserved the win.

I have to admit, i would have liked to see what happened when Philadelphia's "run up a 20 point lead and stop playing" philosophy came face to face with Chicago's "give up 20 points and start playing" philosophy.

Just don't play the second and third quarters.

Have to say, when he's fully fit, McCaffrey is one of the best RBs I have ever seen. Just has it all.

Best white RB ever? Has to be

I’ve never been so happy to see an eagles season end. It has been a chore to watch this team during the season. There are clear talented players on this team but the offense at times looked like a high powered car being operated by a two year old.

Well we already played this year and beat the shite out of them. Would have been nice to avoid the NFC West for one more week but you have to play these hoors sooner or later!

Yeah as much as I wouldn't have wanted a Chiefs-esque season, the further we went this season, the less would have changed next season.

First round of the playoffs is as far as we deserved to go, and should hopefully give enough pause for thought in what approach they need to take for next season, because this just wasn't it.

Yeah they just aren't a likeable team either.

Like does any other team have their head of security known by fans (Big Dom)?

Sirriani reminds me of Arteta too, only more annoying.

Hurts didn't look right all season. I'm wondering if he had some sort of injury.

Anyway I just love watching this Texans defense. They only lead 7-6 at halftime but that's down to offensive errors, one of which gave up a field goal.

Defense came through in a big way in end, fumble recovery TD and Pick 6, they are so good to watch, no fancy stuff like you see with other modern defenses of diguised coverages, stunts etc, they just beat you straight up, easy to do when you have two Pro Bowl caliber Edge Rushers, Corner Backs plus the two Linebackers To’o’To and Al-Shaair.

Will be a big handful for Patriots this weekend though if Stroud plays like he did in the Steelers game with stupid handling errors and bad snaps then will go the way of the Chargers game for Pats too.

Patriots defense really turned it up a notch against the Chargers and we are facing a much poorer offensive line. The Texans don't have a great record in cold weather either.

I think our running game which has been very good. Maye's rushing ability and the speedster Boutte are the keys to success for the Patriots offense.

It'll be low scoring, I'd say 20 points wins it.

I'm not ruling out the Texans, I'm just pointing out our possible strengths.

Yes defense did turn up against Chargers but there is no way that the Texans OL is worse than the Chargers, it was pathetic and gameplan from them even worse with Herbert ending up imploding from having a season of collapsing pockets and was horrendous.

It'll be low scoring, I'd say 20 points wins it. Yeah agree can see it being a real defensive battle and with Nico Collins likely out with a concussion plus your homefield advantage in the cold, huge opportunity to advance.

Did you see last night's game and the last number of games for the Texans? CJ Stroud has been sacked 15 times in their last six games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 13,692 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

he's one of the best RBs ever, period imo. Only injuries that have held him back.

Looks like Tomlin is out at Pittsburg. Leaving, not sacked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 317 ✭✭ipitydafool

Yes I seen last night's game and what ass are you pulling those stats out of, Stroud has been sacked 7 times in his last 6 games, 3 times versus Steelers, gave up zero sacks in wks 16,17 &18 versus Raiders,Chargers and Colts- had a very good protection plan against Chargers in particular as watched the whole game. He gave up one sack in WK 15 versus Cardinals and 3 in wk14 against chiefs.

You said it is a worse offensive line than the Chargers ,it is most certainly not, is it below average and weak, yes but Chargers gave up the two highest pressure rates of the season, one versus Pats and the other versus the Eagles. Reason they just fired their OC and OL coach today.

My apologies, I was looking at his first six games.

They had a lot of games against less than stellar opposition in their last six.

The offensive line is horrendous though. You'll see that on Sunday.
