Heavy Duty hedge trimmer

As you know there is a hedge cutting ban until the August 31st. I have a hedge that I need to trim back because it is borderding a grass margin that I mow with a lawnmower. The hedge is preventing me mowing it so I need to trim it back now, I can't wait until the 31st August. I always get it cut with a tractor-mounted hedge cutter once the ban date has passed. The guy usually doesn't come to me until a good bit after the 31st August though.

It's a high hedge with a thick branches; what is the best hand-held hedge trimmer I could get for this? It would have to be able to cut fairly thick branches and have a reasonably long reach. I am looking for the closest thing to a tractor-mounted hedge cutter basically . Except it has to be hand-held of course. I'd prefer it was a petrol one, not battery.

I saw a Husqvarna one that might be suitable but just looking for suggestions, thanks.

The ban doesn't apply to routine garden hedge cutting if that's what you're talking about.

Hard to see how any hand held hedge trimmer would come remotely close to one operating from the pto on a tractor.

I used a petrol trimmer for years but still on occasions had to use a loppers or chain saw, with a 10" bar, to cut the heavier stuff.

It's not really a garden hedge, it's by a passage to the house and it's fairly big. There probably aren't any birds nesting in it. The guy I get to do my hedges in the fall of the year only really does it between the 31st August to 1st March.

I don't really want to ask him to do it in the summer, he bales silage during that time and I'd say he puts the hedge trimmer in the shed. I will probably be able to get something that does what I want.

If you posted a picture of even a bit of the hedge you might a good suggestion.

It sounds like you are taking on an awful lot of hardship trimming a hedge that is normally done with a tractor.
