I'm looking to buy the below used Toyota Corolla Hybrid Car Japanese Import

    https://www.billgriffinmotors.ie/vehicle?id=9Pg3z

It is a japanese import car, I'm wondering is it a good idea to buy it?

It has full Toyota service history(all in Japan). It costs me 20900, do you think its fair price?

Also does Toyota Ireland provide Hybrid warranty for japanese import cars?

Highly appreciate your valuable inputs, as I'm a newbie with limited knowledge on cars.

It's not particularly cheaper compared to a similar Irish Corolla so don't see the point unless it was significantly cheaper and higher spec.

Have you priced an original used Irish Corolla? Here is a one owner example from a Toyota dealer for the same money presuming you are not trading in an old car. Probably has a Toyota service history and would come with a 12 month Toyota dealer used car warranty:

Also I'd doubt if Toyota Ireland would extend the hybrid warranty to cover a used Japanese import.

Currently toyotas have a high price in used car market. For example, my neighbour traded in their old corolla to buy a RAV4 three months ago and got 3000 euros more compared to the price they bought 3 years back. But now 600km range EVs have arrived. In a few months may be in October 600km range toyota Evs- chr plus and new bz4x will arrive. Currently 600km range kia ev3 is there and is selling huge numbers. I read an analysis few months ago saying that price of used gasolines will fall heavily. So you need to be careful spending thus much on a used car.

Unless a car is seriously cheap, I wouldn’t buy one from BG motors. Reputation wouldn’t be great.

That car was 30k back in 2020 so it doesn't seem to present great value at 21K 5 years later?

Also a hatchback Corolla would give you much more utility, no?

What's the story there? Dealt with them once before and it was smooth. Granted, I knew what I was looking for.

They have a bad rep, plenty feedback on boards.ie amongst others but if you were happy with them, work away. Car looks expensive too for what it is anyway.

Thanks for the valuable inputs guys. Highly appreciate it.

I found another car, did a test drive and liked it. This one is a Irish car. Your opinions will be highly appreciated.

Nice clean car but it’s probably “self charging” which wouldn’t be for me but each to their own. Would you consider one of these instead ? https://www.donedeal.ie/view/39670799
