Nolans is the Emirates Airline of Supermarkets! Loads of staff and always happy to help. Same faces there for years so I imagine the are pleasant to work for too. Manager always opposite the checkouts troubleshooting. Mad expensive though. You won't get change out of a 20 but you get the service for it. I do the main shopping in Lidl or Dunnes but Nolans for a few particular good quality items.

JCs didn't close but it's no longer independent. The brand got bought by Dunnes Stores

Oh, the brand got bought? I thought the shop was converted into a Dunnes. My mistake.

It's still branded as JCs but all the products are Dunne's

There's a Dunne's clothes shop at the front as well which was there before JCs got bought

I'm not sure if there was some plan to roll out more JCs shops elsewhere as maybe a cheaper brand or if they'll just scrap it and convert the entire shop to Dunnes

All the supermarkets near me are spar or other small chains . There isn’t even a sweet shop open . All supermarkets

SuperValu ( Musgrave ) 20.5% Musgraves also own Centra so add another 1-2%

Lidl 12.3% / Aldi 10.6% - combined 22.9% for Lidaldi.

SPAR / Eurospar / Londis / XL / Mace / Gala (BWG group) would make up a lot of the rest but aren't independent.
