    Hi folks..

I've noticed that the top of my attic insulation has turned pretty dark ..over time. It's mostly on one half of the attic ie side facing east..

Everywhere is bone dry and there loads of air circulation.

    Q: Why might this happen....

    Thanks...

Are you in a town or near a busy road? It can be road-dirt or coal/smoke particles collecting in the wool.

Your attic insulation fibre is acting as a filter to any air passing through it and the dark colour is the result of particulate air bourne matter getting trapped by the fibres over time.

Edited to add; nothing to worry about if mainly happening close to the edge of the attic (eaves ventilation)
