Diagnosed with scoliosis at 50

I can't see suitable category for this. Was looking for health matters.

Wondering if anyone else in same boat?

I'd been having back and side/rib issues a while, attended different physios to no avail and then in desperation, tried a chiropractor, who, to be fair to himwas the only one to diagnose Scoliosis.

So, sceptical as I was, I tried chiropractic for about 8 weeks (2 apts per week for 8 weeks) but I'm making no progress whatsoever so I've left that too.

Not sure what's next really..Would a physio be more effective now that I have a diagnosis? Should I see an orthopedic doctor? Should I see a physio specialising in Scoliosis, if there is such a person?

    Any insight welcome.

Scoliosis diagnosed by a chiropractor! Go and see a medical specialist OP.

A chiropractor is not a competent person to diagnose scoliosis.

You should get referred to an orthopaedic consultant, but do not expect to have that diagnosis confirmed.

Sorry, just to clarify: he referred me for xray ( someone does xrays there once a week) and then showed me the xray where I can see the curve.

“Someone” does X-rays there and showed them to you! Seriously OP … go and see a proper specialist!

He is still not a competent person to make any diagnosis, even with an xray.

Get your GP to refer you for a spine MRI scan (may be free of charge)

You say you went to different physios, have you ever been to a doctor about the back pain?

Get a referral from a GP, the others are practitioner type people, no discredit but they are not medically relevant for your position - seek proper professional assistance

I'm going to close this thread as we're veering into medical advice
