I'm located near Eyre Square in the city center and plan to purchase an amplified indoor HD panel aerial. Something like this:

    https://www.lloytron.com/categories/products/accessories/tv-antenna/product/lloytron-active-indoor-panel-tv-antenna-50db-matt-black/A3103BK~A3103BK

Will I be able to get a signal from the Tonabrocky transmitter? It's about 6km away.

If it will work depends on obstructions etc.

If you can see that hill out a window, an un-amplified settop aerial there should work fine, provided polarisation is correct. Those settops aerials positioned as shown are horizontal polarisation, twist the whole thing by 90 degrees (doesn't matter if 90 degrees clockwise or anticlockwise) for vertical signals as is the case with Tonabrocky (just northwest of Galway city) .
