My inverter went dead last night exactly at midnight. Multiple reports on Irish solar Facebook with same issue.

Any errors up on the inverter, /red lights/ anything?

Or is the just the logging gone?

Logger is fine. No power to inverter, all switches are in the right state. Have tried a gracefully restart and still no joy. Judging by the other comments on Facebook there was some dodgy update or bug that hit at midnight

No response at all from inverter and battery is dead. I turned both isolators off and on. Inverter makes clicking noise to come on but then gives up.

We've got a rebadged Kstar (myenergi libbi), and this happened to us also, just after 12pm.

Can hear clicking etc. but the lights remain off, as does the screen.

Got a thread going over at myenergi, will update if I hear anything. Their officisl tech support isn't open until 2nd.

I saw the thread on FB, and it sounds like it will take a while to sort out. It would be an odd time to push an update but not impossible. Its probably a preexisting date bug in the firmware.

It's the millennium bug - just 25 years too late!

Interesting that the libbi had the same issue.

ME are known to push out bugs related to time/calendar and region, they bricked my first EDDI with a botched Australian update when meant the unit could not match to local time, they have also messed up daylight saving crossovers

Interesting. Just read the FB and myenergi threads. This is a right mess. Hope you get sorted soon.

Back to life now per FB. Better get your firmware update before Dec 2028.

No problems with my KStar 5KW. I had the firmware updated in 2023 because the thing wouldn't work properly through 2022.

What firmwares are owners using? It would be interesting to compare. Did KStar do an update since?

I had my firmware updated just after I got it installed and was effected. Kstar admitted it was down to the leap year.

Interesting that it was a date bug, I lost the thread on FB what was the fix in the end?

Odd that a leap year bug would make the inverter shutdown completely.

The only time related annoyance I have with the inverter is that it doesn't update when the clocks go forward and back.

There are many iterations of the inverter. Mine is probably series 1, which is why my firmware was 1.0.xxx and not 2.x.xxx

Also, there are many rebadged versions out there. Not just KStar and Libbi. Each with their own quirks. e.g. different logging sticks - some compatible with Home Assistant and some not.
