Fire extinguisher recommendations

    Hi folks,

A bizzare one for you all, with our renewable infrastructure I think the people here would be most suitable to recommend what time of extinguisher to order (and where?) co2, powder etc. etc.

No Kerosene in the house any more, no chip pan fat, two stoves but guessing the fire risk is minimal from those. Guessing if there was a fire it would be electrical or candle catching (don't use them any more).

Not really concerned about the batteries as such, SolarEdge cased in metal, safe enough.

What do people have in their homes?

    Not sure on batteries

Afaik Foam and CO2 is the recommended for a home assuming no oils

Dry powder is messy and fuks up electronics

Midsummer do lithium extinguishers, some sort of gel type application.

But not sure how effective something like that can be when the cells are in a case because ideally you'd want to cover the cells with it.

I saw one guy on YouTube who had an automatic extinguisher mounted above his inverter

Seems like a smart move to quickly knock a fire out before it spreads, or at least buy time to evacuate and contain it while the fire brigade is en route

Not sure if it'll fully extinguish a battery fire but since they're LFP cells then I'm not sure there's as much risk of the fire going runaway as other chemistries

    They've been around a while

I recall a dry powder type

And of course sprinklers in use all over the place

Some of the DIY cases come with a fire suppressant box inside like these which is cool to see

Google enviroburst - comes in different sizes for your consumer panel. It's geared to UK where they have metal consumer units so if you have plastic talk to a sparks first as it may or may not do you any good.
