Ebay old automatic watch - worth repair / repair possible?

I bought a cheap old automatic hertig Cortina off ebay about 9 years ago. Wore it a few times, bought a nice strap for it, liked the look of the dial. Put it away and didn't look at it for probably 6 or 7 years. Took it out the other day and the winding mechanism (or something) is gone. Now I'm debating handing it in somewhere and how much I care about the watch. Would there even be a lot of jewelers around that would do the repairs?

Give John at https://vintagewatchrepair.ie/ a shout. He should be able to give you a breakdown of cost after he gets it

Have you removed the winding rotor from it?

Because if you haven't, that looks a lot more like a manual wind than an automatic watch.

Is it a Hertig that uses a Certina 15 jewel, KF330 manual movement?

Hi OP, The watch as LordDrakul has mentioned, isnt an automatic (Unless you've removed the rotor assembly?).
Its a hand wound watch and as such, its very likely repairable should you wish to do so.
A long period of it not being used has probably led to the lubricants to degrade and solidfy.
A service could well be all it needs.

Now there are jewellers and warchmakers that can undertake the work and John Donohue has already been recommended. I've used him a few times myself and would happily recommend him.
It may be though that you want someone a bit more local to you?
If you let us know your general area?
I'm sure we could make some more recommendations.

Yes, sorry. It is a manual wind. A Hertig that uses the Certina 15 jewel, KF330 manual movement. I'm based in East Cork with easy access to Cork. John Donohue website looks very good
