Considering changing my broadband provider and already a customer of Sky for TV, just wondering if anyone has any experience with their broadband service in Kerry, particularly North Kerry. What level of service are you getting? Speed wise and stability please.

Sky just resell eir's wires and service. They offer fibre to the home if eir offers it. Who is your existing provider and what plan are you on? Often it's easier to haggle a deal and stay where you are.

I am with a local provider Real Broadband, I don't have a phoneline running to my home. I'm quite happy with the provider I have but just considering changing for a bundling option and wondering if higher speeds than what I currently have is available and stability of what they offer. 66Mbps down and under 2Mbps up is what I am getting at the moment.

I am with Digiweb for the last couple of years at home and we just left Vodafone in our business and moved to Digiweb also. They have very good customer service. Far better than Vodafone who were the worst I've ever experienced!

Having been a Sky TV customer for 22 years, and not being happy with Airwire, a Galway based broadband provider, I decided to change to Sky broadband. Airwire were charging me for speeds that I was never getting.

The problem started within 24 hours of my signing up online with a Sky rep. The Airwire plug was pulled the next day and the Sky broadband activated along with the telephone. The only problem was that there was no Sky router, and the Sky techs wouldn't tell me how to get my old router to work on their system while I was waiting for the Sky one to show up. The inner workings of their system are obviously top secret and I've been told that no one has managed to use a different router with their system. The landline number wouldn't work without access to their system either, meaning that it was costing me a fortune to speak with Sky customer service on my mobile.

The router didn't arrive for a week. In the meantime I decided to cancel Sky broadband within the 14-day cooling off period and then picked Vodafone.

I know from past experience that Vodafone's customer service is crap, and even the Vodafone rep admitted that it was rubbish, which was honest of him, but I decided to give them another chance. I was with them before I signed up with Airwire about six years earlier. 😛

By this time I was really peed of with Sky and decided to scrap the TV package, giving them 31 days notice as I wasn't in a contract with them. The snakes told me that I was in a new contract with them and that the contract didn't expire until Feb 2025. I told them that the only contract that I agreed to was the Sky broadband one, and that had been cancelled. They disagreed and said that they would listen to the recording and get back to me. I know damn well that no other contract was mentioned other than the broadband one. They never did get back to me and have been getting paid by direct debit each month for the TV package that I didn't want. I haven't had time to fight it out with the devious a-holes but I'll get payback one day. Sky's customer service makes Vodafone's look perfect, and at least ringing Vodafone's customer service number is free, unlike Sky's that takes you to the cleaners each time you phone them. 😜

In conclusion, I wouldn't trust Sky as far as I could throw them.
