Black Friday - Any Recommendations?

Teenager's phone pack in today and I'm looking for a quick fix something I can pick up tomorrow/Monday. He's on Tesco Mobile prepay ATM. Anyone got decent recommendations for unlocked phone I can grab in B&M for max € 150? Not fussed on spec or high end gaming once it can do the basics. Guessing 6/8GB RAM would be preferable if budget will get me that. Definitely Android - not interested in iPhone options.

Redmi Note 13 via Tesco Mobile for € 140 seems the handiest bet? I know Three had the likes of the Pixel 8A significantly reduced but I'm not spending € 250. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the suggestion. Although it's a newer OS and free watch, the 14C looks to maybe be a lesser spec phone, or am I missing something?

Well your budget is low so you won't get the best specs, also its I assume for a kid or teen so its not massively important

Yes the 14C would be more of a budget phone compared to the Note range - the Note 13 has been replaced by the Note 14 recently

Sign up for a Vodafone eSIM which requires no topup. Switch the number to eir and the Xiaomi 13c is €70. It's €109 from HarveyNorman . Or the HMD Pulse Plus is €100 but €50 if you switch to eir, the net cost being €75 since you have to sign up for a month of their SIMO. Or the Galaxy A16 5G is €90 from Three, again by switching the Vodafone eSim.

I would try to extend the budget and get the Pixel 8a from Three for 249. Will perform better and last a lot longer than phones in the 150 to 200 range.

It should be. As far as I know Samsung phones are usually sold unlocked nowadays.

If you order it online you can return it under the 14 day right of withdrawal, in case it's not unlocked.

Maybe they've changed it but you should just be able to pick "data unlimited 5G", create an account and download the esim. Failing this you can get a PAYG sim from eir with a €10 top up.
