Huawei Inverter- Connecting to New Router

Hey all, I'm hoping to move from my current broadband ISP to Virgin Media, so this will mean a new router being installed.

My Huawei inverter is obviously connected to my current router but this will of course change when the new ISP is up and running.

I looked up on how to reconfigure the Huawei inverter to a new router in my home and it necessitates me logging into the WiFi coming from the inverter itself.

When I try and log in, the password supplied from the installer doesn't work.

I've come across a way of resetting the inverter password by turning on / off the AC /DC switches in a certain way but it's not making sense to me.

Have any of you had to do this password reset on a Huawei inverter or can any installers shed any light on how to do this.

    Thanks all !

A easy workaround is that you set the Wifi SSID and password of the new router to the old one - then you dont have to change any of your devices.

If you take note of your current WiFi name and password so say when you look at the available networks and your current one shows up as “vixdname’s wifi” and then whatever the password is. When the new router is installed, change the WiFi name and password to be the same as the old one and then your inverter will connect automatically.

As others have said, rename your new router ssid to what your current one is. I've used the same ssid that came with my first Vodafone router for over a decade now because I hate reconfiguring everything every year.
