Maybe because Nissan arent making cars that anyone with taste (and money) want. Look at this lineup and tell me you'd rather not walk than be seen in these.

The same could be said for most cars these days, I'm no fan of crossovers or SUV I hate them they're really ugly, in my opinion and they're just too big for our roads and parking spaces.

Most cars now are not even good to drive nor offer a good driving experience to those who like driving, car manufacturers now cater seemingly only for those who prefer an appliance like experience where more in car tech and entertainment are seeming the most important thing in a car.

One reason I love motorcycles, and I really love it, one really important thing is they make what they call modern classics or retros that are almost identical to bikes that are 40-50+ years old and they're selling like hotcakes because they offer a good riding experience, engines and exhausts that sound good too and I think, hmmm, if there's such a market for modern retro motorcycles then why do car manufacturers not follow suit ?

Honda had gone the ultra modern high tech for years and have recently brought out a modern classic bike due to strong sales in the segment.

VW are in a bit of a bother too.

    https://www.theguardian.com/business/article/2024/sep/04/volkswagen-has-a-year-maybe-two-to-turn-around-financial-chief-warns

    There's various sources for this.

It's probably not a good idea having a Green politician who doesn't own a car sitting on the Supervisory Board of VW ? lol 😂

Is the Micra completely gone in Ireland now? And Europe probably too...

Micra will be a renault 5 with different skin. Leaf has been photographed around europe charging at ccs stations and based on renault megane platform. Ariya is not a bad car but they priced it too high to begin with and is forgotten…too late in lifecycle to save it now.

Nissan in US has terrible reputation for self-destruct CVT transmissions.

That's news to me ? what a shame.

Manufacturers are making huge money selling cars that sit a few mm taller on larger wheels with bulky body kits to make them look bigger but they're still hatchback size inside.

Some of the cars are just ridiculously big to drive the kids to school so Mammy can show off debt. I need the space they say, yeah get an estate, more room or a proper 7 seater.

I'd put a super tax on all these big crossover/SUV especially when they go over a certain weight. say 1500 Kg.

They are not that bad now. The Juke is funky, the Qushqui has a bit of style and they are reliable but ye they never going to have class or real desirability because that are Nissan after all but if they were at the right price and I am in the market for new or 2nd hand I would consider one.

    Nissan's ridiculous "E-Power" concept probably hasn't helped?

Petrol engine → Charging tiny battery → Electric Motor.

You cannot drive any distance on Electric power alone.

Same can be said for Toyota and their self charging hybrids?
