Advice Needed for DIY Solar Setup while Reroofing

    Hi everyone,

I’m in the process of reroofing my house and planning a DIY solar installation. I’d really appreciate it if someone could have a look at my proposed setup and suggest any improvements or alternatives. My goal is to maximise the energy potential of the available roof space. Here's what I’m considering:

    • Panels: 22 x 430W Astronergy (12 south-facing, 10 west-facing)
    • Mounting System: GSE In-Roof (to avoid slating the roof first)
    • Inverter: Sungrow SH5.0RS (chosen for its oversizing capability and backup option)
    • Battery: Sungrow SBR064 (pricey, but I haven’t found a viable alternative)

Does this setup look ok, or are there better options I should explore? Thanks in advance for your advice!
