Best Irish bank for USA use ?

What's the best irish bank for use for a Holiday in the USA ?

I have a revolut and AIB accounts but thinking there might be other options I can consider

Revolut has far better exchange rates. Having a BOI credit card has advantages over debit cards.

Cash is king. You get discounts for using cash in filling stations, restaurants motels etc in the states

If it was me I'd bring my gambling and walking around money in cash, use card for the rest, Revolut I'd recommend.

ATM's in Vegas charge crazy fees, $5-$10 per withdrawal no matter who you bank with or how much you are taking out, best avoided at all costs.

Cash + Revolut

As a poster above said, the ATM fees are high, but at least nowadays you can get out 2k at a time and not just 400 at the in-casino machines. Depending on your plans for shenanigans, it might not be a great idea to keep too much cash in your room, so while a little expensive it's a slightly safer option. Also remember to convert the revolut funds from EUR to USD on a weekday to get the best rate, and then the USD gets deducted when you use ATM.

And plenty of places are now cashless too, so bring your revolut.

I was on a Native American reservation in Arizona. They wanted $200 fee to use an Irish card!

OK, it depends on three things;

1. The hotel you are staying in
2. How much we are talking about
3. What activities you will be getting up to

If you are staying in a sawdust joint your chance of having your room robbed by staff is a little higher.

If you are bringing people back to your room (professionally or amateurly) you are at risk of getting trickrolled, especially if you wear a luxury watch.

If you are getting very drunk while gambling and with friends who abandon you and staying in a sawdust joint and staying out super late you are at a small risk of getting followed and robbed.

Trade Republic card has zero FX fees including weekends.

T212 card has minimal FX fees of 0.15%.

make sure you have your uber account good to go and an eSIM, as you won’t be walking anywhere
