    Hi all,

Found a watch on chrono that I’m interested in, it’s used and for sale by a dealer with 4.8/5 reviews in Italy. Asking price is €3495.

I have never bought off chrono so I’m wondering what sort of discount people have got in the past?

    Thanks 😋

I've bought 2 on Chrono24 so far, 1 from a dealer and 1 from a private seller. I managed to get 8% from the dealer and 12% from the private seller.

I'm currently selling 2 on there and have taken the 6.5% fee into account for my asking price. I'm sale agreed on one at 7% below asking and I've had an offer of 15% below asking on the 2nd that I've refused.

Thanks, so offering 10% less isn’t insulting and go from there.

Nope not at all. The other piece of advice I'd offer is, if you can contact the dealer directly?

If he is a well established dealer with a premises or web shop? Consider contacting directly as any deal will be saving him money on the C24 cut.

I wouldn't do it for a private sale but, for a purchase from a well established business? I'd certainly consider it.

Appreciate the advice, I will remember that the next time….the watch I was interested in has been sold since starting this thread. Ah well, I’ll keep looking.

Would you see what discount you can get on the platform first? And then contact off chrono to see if you can get anything better then? If no further discount buy through chrono? Is 8-10% fairly normal even for more expensive watches?

Have bought once and sold thrice on Chrono24, and each time there have been negotiations. I bought from a dealer, and they were very willing to entertain a discussion.

It is a market place, so some to and fro is expected, but all such discussions are monitored and moderated so be wary.
