used to use the Western Digital Mycloud , but they have dis-continued their support for these for some reason so reluctant to buy again

just want something to store my phone pics and downloaded movies , nothing personal that i'd be afraid to lose etc

so ideally can sync pics from my iphone and also transfer videos from the laptop to it

also be able to watch the videos on my tv

what are people using these days for a good Nas drive ?

    thanks

lot of options in te market nowadays… the top brands bein Synology, QNap, Asustor (ASUS subsidiary), TerraMaster etc. Synology being the most popular (the rest have a little bit of a cloud hanging over them due to Deadbolt hacking). You also got to decide on whether you want a 2 bay/4 bay / 6 bay / 8 bay NAS… 4 bay being the best compromise between price and space. For just pure storage - most of them are ok really, its when you start to look at what extra bits you want is when you start to look at the different options - better hardware / better software / app availability / scalability etc… most of them are China ot Taiwan based if that is of any importance
