Removing fuel supply to fuel filter

Hi guys. I'm trying to replace the fuel filter on my 2005 Ford Transit. As part of the job, I need to disconnect the fuel supply line to the filer (need to insert a priming pump, to draw fuel up from the tank). However, I just can't get the connector off. The Haynes manual says you just push the release button and it slides off. I've tried pressing into the little hole on the connector, but its staying firmly attached. Photo included here, of the black rubber connection I'm trying to slide off to the right. Any ideas of how to get it off?

    Thanks

I think the bit u push in is at the bottom.

after pushing that in you then push the whole connector forward and then pull back.

The connector looks damaged - I think there should be a green or white piece of plastic in the hole that you push to release the connector. In this case, it just looks like a hole that somebody has mangled.

Search ebay for Transit fuel lines to get an idea for what it should look like.

I have seen such connectors cut off and replaced with a generic piece of fuel hose + jubilee clip.

The bit you push is on the opposite side of those little holes, it's a flat coloured plastic piece although with the damage you have caused to the holes it might be tricky to get it off now as it pushes into those holes just from the other side.

Thanks for replies. Just got home and looked it again. Its a Haynes YouTube video I've been looking at for the process. Their video is a UK van, whereas my van is a German import (it's a motorhome). My fuel filter is on the opposite side of engine bay to the video. I assumed though that the connections would be going in/out on the same sides. On the video they have the feed going into the right side. After looking at my setup - there's definitely no grey tab to press down on right connector. BUT, on the left one there is exactly like ye suggested, and I popped it off. Is it safe to assume then that this is the fuel supply?
