    Hi everyone

i have a 2012 rx and its been fantastic, except for the MPG ;-)

i brought car to lexus for a serviceand some other bits, i know its madness paying inflated prices, but i get a hybrid check and a 12 month warranty so i feel worth it.

On the day they could not complete the check and said drive 500kms and return. Did that and same issue the software cant run. they dont know why and said come back again which is a pain in the hole.

    Has anyone had same issue?

    Thanks in advance.

I wouldnt say its madness at all paying for Lexus service. They are very reasonable compared to BMW or Mercedes and I find them good. As you say, you get another 12 month warranty on the battery. I've usually been very disappointed by the average independent mechanic.

I also recently bought a 2015 RX450h and I was disappointed with the mpg initially as I have come from cars rather than SUVs, but then I compared it to other similar vehicles and its not bad. An X5 3.0 diesel with less power will only the similar mpg and that is diesel. A 3.0 litre petrol one will be lucky to get 24mpg. My RX is 2.2 tonnes and I get approximately 30mpg. What are you getting? You have to get a 4 cylinder diesel if you want an SUV to be economical and then they are way down on power and refinement.
