Fair play to Utd, hanging in there a man down for so long. Anyones now - though i've a feeling Utd will nick it. Bayindir to make himself a hero maybe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,128 ✭✭✭✭8-10

Arsenal's best penalty taker off injured and their captain who never missed in his career missed one tonight already

Still hopeful they can do it! Come on Raya!

Whoever wins the shootout, one thing is for sure...this Arsenal team is not winning the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,856 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Arsenal were completely dominant in every stat, except the one that ultimately matters. They lack quality with their finishing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,856 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Advantage to United. Taking penalties in front of their fans and going first.

    Seriously

Who honestly thought Havertz would score that ?

Havertz..... you kinda knew he wouldn't score, fine save.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,060 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Spoke too soon - poor auld Kai. A finish to match his performance. Good placement, but absolutely no power.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,856 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

You just knew Havertz wouldn't score. He is shocking.

When a player's had a bad game, they really need to just smash it - any time a player tries to be clever after a stinker, it seems to go badly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,161 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Raya is excellent at getting nowhere near these efforts

Too busy focusing on being cool with their silly little multi-hop crap.

Just hit the bloody thing (especially if you're rubbish).

Nice for him to scofre the winner - considering his recent form.

Went very early on most of them. So early even if the taker was going to go that side he may have been able to adjust.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,083 ✭✭✭hunter164

Raya went the wrong way for every penalty.

Another trophyless season for Arsenal I'd say. Ah well doing well in the nearly winning something league

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,856 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Arsenal bottled that. They were so dominant but couldn't finish in the final third. United defended well considering they went down to 10 men after an hour. Quite fitting that Havertz missed penalty was crucial. The cherry on top of his crud pie performance. And Odegaard should have put ahead with his own penalty in regular match time.

And another big game coming midweek against Spurs. That ET will have taken more out of them than the Spurs one.

Havertz should donate his weekly salary to charity.

    Absolutely embarrassing from him today.

No messing about, straight into the draw, good stuff.

100% Arsenal will make it a top priority to buy a striker after what happened today.

arteta likes choir boys, osimhen too maverick I’d imagine. I hope he comes to the Prem though.

have little history of making big signings in the winter window, their DoF role is a state of flux I believe aswell and they can’t loan anyone until they sign permanently one of their players currently on loan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,777 ✭✭✭eigrod

Amorim certainly has instilled some stability in his team in the last couple of games. The real test now you’d think is to go and beat team outside of the top 4 consistently.

An away draw, against the furthest away team as was possible, after they've just knocked out a PL team away from home, who are unbeaten since changing managers last year, and who took us to a replay last time we met after drawing with a Jurgen Klopp team at Anfield

    Still, decent draw!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,766 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Funny how words can be used. "Unbeaten since changing manager last year" is totally different when known the manager was sacked on last day of the year and they also played no games last year under the current management. 2 of those matches in that 3 game unbeaten run also dont involve the current manager. Unknown quantity right now, but no way should it be used to big them up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 578 ✭✭✭Dr Robert

Did Arteta blame anything unusual today?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,653 ✭✭✭facehugger99

They need someone who can score goals but is also good at feigning injury when they’re leading.
