New Zappi - Cable from fuse board or meter box?

    Hi,

    Dumb question alert.

I'm about to run the power cable (100m2 - 3 core - swa) for a new Zappi installation. I will be doing the run as there are messy civil works required. I'm getting conflicting information online. Do I run the cable from my fuse board or from ESB meter box?

Note : I already have PV, Harvi (located beside fuse board) and Eddi.

    Much appreciated.

    Fuseboard. (Consumer unit)

Also, 100m is a long run, 6mm2 may not be enough.

The meter box installs are only if getting back to the fusebox is impossible/impractical

Thanks Graeme. Sorry I meant a 25m run of 10mm2 cable.

    Appreciate your help.

i got a zappi installed a few weeks ago , put it next to the meter box , they ran a sub board directly from the meter cab to the zappi , no need to run all the way to the consumer unit and back out again ,

That's fair enough, but safe electric does say if you can go back to the main consumer unit, go back to the main consumer unit.

Only take from the meter box if it's impractical to take it from the consumer unit.

Hi, having the same problem, running a cable from the consumer unit is really impractical where my meter box is really ideal.

Was the 16mm2 from the meter to the consumer board wired directly from the meter, how did the electrician handled that.

    Regards

Electrician shouldn't install at the meter unless an isolator is in place. Application to Esbn to fit one.
