Issue with home insurance

I had my house renovated a few years ago and the builders did an awful job and would only agree to fix it if I paid extra, which led to me holding back 10k of the agreed price. I have now ran into an issue as my home insurer is looking for the guarantee on the flat roof the builder had installed. The builder will not provide the contractors name. Do I have any legal recourse?

Tough shishiski. He ain't going helping you with that and don't think legal route is going get you anywhere if you withheld money from him

Flat roofs are difficult to insure. I don't know what any guarantee is supposed to mean though? Have you shopped around?
