Hi John, interested in the Ray in Black.

Can you tell me if I can control this soundbar using Samsung Frame TV remote? I only ask as we've had no luck getting this to work with our current soundbar and it's a pain to use two remotes.

    Not Your Ornery Onager

Odd how neither page gives any info on power output.

    Is this normal, John?

    Hi TitianGerm.

You should be able to control the Ray with your Samsung TV remote.
My Sonos Beam can be controlled via my LG TV remote, also my SkyQ remote and the Ray's operations are the same.

    Go to the Settings menu.
Under My System, choose the room where your Sonos home theatre product is located.
Under Home Theatre, select Remote Control Setup.
Follow the in-app instructions to configure your TV remote with Sonos.

..what an interesting query - and you are dead right!

As far as I can see Sonos don't quote wattage for any of their speaker products (they do quote power for the Separate CI Sonos Amp, where it is directly relevant (it's 125W into 8 Omhs BTW))

To be fair to Sonos it is a little academic as their amps are bundled with their speakers in a sealed cabinet and unless they also published how efficient the drive units were, the wattage would not bear any relation to the Spl (sound pressure level) which would actually be a useful spec (I don't think they publish that either..) - even then Spl would not be much use unless they also published Distortion… (and guess what…)

So, I'm guessing they are taking the old Rolls Royce policy when asked what power their cars were - Rolls' answer was 'adequate' … and again from experience I can confirm that very few Sonos Customers are unhappy with the real world power of their Sonos purchases - but I wouldn't expect a Sonos Roam to power your Saturday Night party down the village hall either.

Sorry for rambling - but again it IS an interesting query and I thought it deserved some thought.. and I will put your general query to Sonos.

Hi John, apologies for not coming back to you but I didn't get a notification of a reply to the thread and completely forgot to check back.

If you have any Rays left at the discounted price I'd be happy to purchase.

    Thanks for the post TitianGerm.

Unfortunately the Sonos promotional pricing finished last night and the prices have gone back to the pre sale pricing. I could squeeze a white one down to 199 euro as a one off for today only?

    Kind regards

    David

Hi David, my apologies just in the first comment it says the promotion was available between the 8th and 10th of October so I thought the lower price was still available.

I might leave it for the moment and wait for them to drop in price again.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for getting back to me TitianGerm,

Unfortunately the pricing was running between the 8th and midnight on the 9th.

Let me know if you are looking again in the future though and I can see what deals we have on them!

    Kind regards
