    Hi guys.

I live enough far from the bus stop so every morning i walk until it and after use public transport (bus).

I have an idea to buy a bike for myself and do cycling in the morning and back to home when finish just to miss the walking and get home earlier. Unfortunately there is no bike racks at the bus stops. Can i just leave my bike there with a locker and lock down it to a signboard or to the bus stop?

I never do it before and actually nothing rack around it. I cant transport the bike on the bus but would be great to use it until the bus stop.

Someone can tell about this situation? The bike wouldnt be so expensive and i would lock down it, but i never tried it before and know what would be the best option.

    Thank you.

Would you consider a folding bicycle?

No it would be a casual bike nothing extra, no foldable one. Another option could be an electric scooter but i dont know the driver allow me to bring it with myself or not as never tried and havent seen people with that. On train it wouldnt be a problem, but on bus it can be.

Well a folding bike can be got cheap secondhand. You don't need a Brompton.

Cycle fold unfold cycle. Repeat daily.

I lost count of the amount of them I used to see in Holland and Germany on public transport.

If you're going to lock a bike in exactly the same place all day every day, even if it's an absolute crock of a thing I would bet on it being stolen eventually. But if it's a crock of a thing, then at least you wouldn't have lost too much (but you'd be back walking to the bus again).

I certainly wouldn't be doing what you propose with any half-decent bike.

If it's a busy bus route, and you're commuting during rush-hour, I can't see a fold up bike being welcome on the bus (I have no idea what the actual rules are, mind you - but some buses are hard to get people onto at rush hour, never mind fold-up bikes!)

See if you can get some old bike for free or for a nominal sum (from the likes of recycling centres or freecycle) and give it a go.

Next time you are on the bus, watch out for the subsequent bus stops, and see is there somewhere to store your bike. SO instead of cycling to the first bus stop, you cycle to the next or one after it.

I'd echo the security concerns though.

don't, whatever you do, lock your bike to the bus stop. it'll be in people's way.

Please do not "and lock down it to a signboard or to the bus stop".

Find a proper designated bicycle park, don't just litter the footpath with your property.

You can look around bus stops before and after your usual one.

How far is the whole distance to cycle? Give up the bus completely?
