Could someone plz explain the goods only declaration? We've moved to Ireland from UK. Have a Nissan navara for dogs n hosses. Both of us retired. Just done VRT. Told to tax in person in Cork. Just seen form R111A declaring for goods only. It's a family car. We have no business. Are we actually allowed to have our truck here to use as a family car? It's feeling very Kafkaesque so. Anyone?

If the vehicle was to be used solely for business purposes you are entitled to tax it at a the reduced commercial rate - €333.

But that doesn’t appear to apply to you, so you should tax it under the usual private use bands, likely based on CO2 if it is newer than 2008.
