I'd like to find out where Leary's Place in Dublin was located. I saw that it was somewhere off Townsend Street, but I don't know the exact location. Thanks.

You could look thru an old edition of Thom's street directory. It may have been built over if not in a modern street map.

@cobham Thanks very much for that.

I couldn't find a Leary's Place on Google maps, so as you say it may have been built over. I must get to a library to look at a Thom's street directory to see if there is more information. This is where I found that it was off Townsend Street

I think it was as the eastern end, at the section running almost across the street.

There's a sort of triangle at this point where Townsend street, Hanover street and lower Sandwith street join.

    ath262 is spot on.

The location isn't named on the old map at Geohive

But it is marked in on one of the old maps in the UCD collection

@ath262 and @Hermy That's brilliant, thanks so much for that. Probably lots of these little streets have disappeared over time. I'll have to go exploring the old maps in the UCD collection. It looks like a great resource.
