Is this too much mileage?

I was looking at a 4 year old Toyota CR-H hybrid with roughly 117k miles on the clock. It looks in decent working order. However I'm wondering is that mileage a bit too high? I'm fairly clueless when it comes to cars. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Its about as reliable a car as you can get. Just make sure you get it properly checked out or a warranty if it from a dealership and thats its priced lower than similar cars with low mileage. Depending on the mileage you put on it, it may be hard to shift on in the future for any decent money

The mileage is fine as long as its been reflected in the price. You may also be able to get a 12 month warranty on the hybrid system if you service the car with Toyota

It's high mileage for 4 years if it is indeed miles - more than twice the average.

Thanks for the information. Have you owned one previously? I'm thinking the life cycle of the battery might also be an issue but i suppose seeing as it's a hybrid it shouldn't be too big a deal.

That is 190k km on a car! I have a CHR bought it last year its 182 plate and had 28k km.

Toyota offer a yearly warranty up to 10 years and millage below 185k km if you service the car yearly or every 15k km. Tbh I would walk away unless that car was price cheap!. Thing I find out high mile cars is everything is worn from the seats, steering wheel down to the push button start.

Personally if you want the CHR get the 1.8hybridand SOL spec. Half leather with nicer alloys

Can't really offer any specific advice on CHR but 200k kms is fairly high mileage for a 4 year old car. You'd want to be getting a decent discount compared to lower mileage options

I bought an Is300h in 2017, it was 2 years old and had 98,000 miles on it. I kept it for 6 years and it was flawless. Tyres, servicing and fuel is all it needed.

I wouldn't fear high mileage on a CHR, as mentioned above, price should reflect the mileage.

I disagree. I have bought 4 year old cars with 160k miles on them and they are like brand new inside and out, apart from some expected stone chips. And they sail through the NCT

Some people don’t mind high mileage, OP could be saving €10k compared to a low mileage one for all we know.

And we all know that Toyotas are the most reliable cars on the roads regardless of mileage

You are buying well cared for cars, surely lower mileage and less used cars are better condition inside than cars with over 200k even if they are only 4 years old.

It's all down to price and what the OP tends to do with a car. My sister bought a car with 200k km only 5 years old and intends to do 40k km for work. Nobody will be buying that after 2 years of ownership. I would say it wasn't reflected in the price.

I would pay a bit more for a clean example with lower mileage unless the high mileage was priced right.

I'm driving the 2nd family car, 2006 merc with 220k km. Yeah it has a few cars on the body work (MIL owned it from new until 3 years ago) not the best colour but it was top spec. Auto everything, heated seats, front and rear sensors.

Back for the OP. Yeah that's high mileage but if its priced right go for it! Reliable cars and pretty comfortable. As I said get the 1.8 hybrid, SOL spec for the heated seats. Assume its 2020 your looking at, should have Android/Apple carplay. M

And if OP is going to be doing high mileage then forget about it because the car will be almost worthless in a few years. But if doing low mileage it will eventually even out after a few years
