    Played my first round, went 16 kills for 14 deaths, hardly amazing, but I did stab a sniper, and ultimately that's the entire point of the game, isn't it?

    Played a bit at lunch. It's really good, the shooting feels very good.

    Only thing I am not sure about is that it's very chaotic due to the maps being pretty small, I am hoping the maps in the beta are just small maps and this isn't indicative of the overall game. Like on some maps you won't spend more than a few seconds before getting shot at.

    I had a lot of fun earlier on Cairo map and Gibraltar map.

    One thing that struck out is that the maps felt a lot smaller, but a lot more detailed. Very much CQB.

    Graphics are excellent.

    Dragging med help is nice touch.

    I'm absolutely sh1t at this game so far.

    Very much a bf3/4 feel them a bf2042 game

    Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

    Had quite a few games today, made it to rank 17.

    Not sure how I feel tbh, the movement feels very light and 2042esque. I've always preferred the weighty movement of BC2.

    Maps are ok so far, the smallest the game has to offer from what I've read. Snow map is just essentially sniper glint alley most of the time, and the other two seem like BF6's versions of Seine Crossing/Aftermath maps.

    TTK seems quick enough, but nothing that has left me feeling 'this is BS' or too much lag/desync.

    Well that leaves me out for a bit - Says I need secure boot enabled - just realised Windows 10 was installed as MBR and not GPT (on a legacy bios) so I have to reformat, convert disc to GPT, reinstall windows and then enable secure boot as it only works on UEFI bios and GPT - bit of a pain but I already have a new CPU and ram for BF6 - Thought Id get away without having to do the upgrade just to try out the beta.

    Just have to bite the bullet and do the upgrades now so.

    You don't need to reformat. You can convert MBR to GPT with a single command and reboot, unless you have some weird partition setup.

    Thanks I saw that - I ran the command mbr2gpt /validate /allowFullOS and it says its passed validation - obviously on the OS drive.

    The actual conversion one is mbr2gpt /convert /allowFullOS - Is it that simple?

    Then just boot into bios and change to UEFI, Turn on secure boot? I only want to try the beta out. As I said I have a new CPU , current is a 1700x Ryzen , new (used) one is 5700x and another 16gb ram. GPU is fine for a bit 6700xt. I posted in the Windows forum - Ive to update bios before installing the new cpu - current bios doesnt support the 5700x.

    Yes, it should be that simple. For that part at least.

    There's a few potential pitfalls with turning on secure boot. If your boot device or boot order depends on extra add on cards or controllers, then turning of CSM may interfere. You could get an Inaccessible Boot Device error with Windows after that. Get a Windows 10 installer ready on a USB stick so you can a boot repair from it if that happens.

    First weekend is almost over

    I really like it

    Few glitches and bugs, love the particle effects, love the shaking and atmosphere, love how the battlefield feels live and dynamic with multiple firefights happening all around you

    Graphics are great, Classes are balanced and in most of my games there were a mix of support, assault and engineer

    The maps are good, got better the more I got used to them, which is a very good sign. Love that new entrances can be blown open, and the full release will be way more vertical assuming the gadgets like zip wires and people dropping out of choppers and jets

    I didn't really fancy it at all. Too much going on, auto spotting is an absolute joke, the vehicles are ass…its just a reskinned BF2042.

    Of course we're never going back to BF2/3/BC2 as their obvious aim is to sell cosmetics and season passes.

    Thought it was fairly good. A million times better than 2042.

    Will be very interested to see the full game and the proper range of maps, but it's definitely promising at least so far.

    I did enjoy it, although it's clear that my FPS days are long gone.

    Main issue is that large maps like Conquest run like ass, I move incredibly slow. Smaller maps are fine.

    Spear - That worked 100% - got in about 20 hours this weekend using my old cpu and ram - 1700x and 16gb DDR4 - Over 80+ FPS at 1080p. Ill have the new cpu and ram ready for the launch but that mbrtogpt tool is really , really good.

    From seeing the outpouring of confusion/stupidity on Reddit I'm surprised there's so many modern PCs that don't have these things turned on by default. Your machine is on the older end of things, so it's not that surprising. But I don't get why newer machines don't have it. They're not running alternate OS's, or using add in SCSI cards that need CSM.

    BF2042 is only €3 on Steam currently. They're running a battle pass with drops for the various BFs, including BF6 until the release of the aforementioned BF6.

    It's a decent enough game now, long after it's infamous launch. Decent though, not great, just decent. You could easily get your moneys worth out if it for €3 at least.
