Any suggestions for a good lock. Have up to €100 budgeted for one.

    Abus Granit 8077
They bent the disc on my bike trying to get it off and gave up

After you buy the big lock, don’t leave the bike anywhere with low footfall. On an average week I’m seeing three stolen bikes with Balaclava wearing scrotes out scouting for more bikes to Rob.

Leave close. to a shop door in a busy street

I use an ABUS chain and key lock as well as a disc lock. So good so far, but I'm sure an angle grinder would get through them easy enough. I was thinking about getting a GPS tracker for my next bike, but they're not cheap.

put a disc lock on the rear disc as close to the rear frame as possible, it makes it harder for them to cut or hammer off

You can pick up a Tracker fairly cheaply. No contract, but the cheap ones normally only work off a 2G Sim….and 2G seems to be on the way out unfortunately.

Sorry, the Tracker I linked to (and others) do have a monthly charge of around €6 per month. However there are plenty of others on Aliexpress, etc that work without any charges (apart from whatever the cheapest Sim-only option is available)

Depends on what you want. IMO for that budget the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit U-Lock is the best on the market, but in today's climate I'd be using that AND a rear lock. Best available is the Almax chain, but that's a good bit out of your range.

Presume this is dublin, what the fu k are the guards doing if this is the case? A sting op would be like shooting fish in a barrel if they were bothered

Looking at reviews and there are more secure options out there but for a heftier price:

The Litelok X1 and X3, and the Hiplok D1000, are all stronger (at least against the methods of attack that thieves are using in the street). And this is reflected in their Sold Secure ratings; they are the only u-locks with Motorcycle Diamond ratings.

The Gardai are not allowed to engage with stolen motorcycles. Don't blame them, blame management.
