Plastic water pipe problems

I have one toilet fed by a plastic pipe. The cold water pressure to it has fallen off to a dribble. Hot water is no problem.

    Where to start looking ?

"toilet" as toilet+sink(other appl) , just canister or just sink ?

Could be lime build up/loose lime or debris in pipework/appliances.
Start with easy accessible places first
If its just sink - does tap have spout "mesh/aerator" - remove and clean / replace
Some taps might have mesh filters on tails

Check outlet in the water storage tank - could be big rat blocking it 😃

After that all fittings/valves along from affected outlets to the tank

Hi, you said toilet but also referenced hot water - so we take it to mean that you have a slow cold tap on a basin, but that the hot is ok. So then how quickly is the toilet cistern filling, and is it running off the same plastic pipe?

Depending on where the cold water is slow then you can work out where the blockage is. For example if the basin taps comprise of two individual taps (and not a monoblock) and the cistern fills ok, then the problem is likely to be the tap, isolating valve below the tap or the aerator on the tap.

So yeah, give us more info an we'll help more.

Both the tap and the cistern are slow, I am going to have a go at it to day. Will let you know how it goes.

Tap and cistern would suggest then that the blockage is upstream of where both connect - there is sometimes an isolation valve on the supply to the bathroom… try open locate it and with the tap open fully open and close it a few times to see if it frees up. Before that remove the aerator in the tap (if fitted) and check whether there is a build-up of crud which could be affecting both.

As luck would have it my neighbour had a plumber in for a job this morning so I asked him to look at it.

He checked from both ends and figures the pipe is kinked or pinched as there is lots of pressure going into the pipe. He was there for 25 minutes with a mate and would not take money. He's trying to get established in the area and gave me his card.

    Another job done !
