Velux doesn't look right

I would appreciate other's opinion on this. I don’t know much about it. About 6 months ago I got someone to convert my attic to an office. I was pleased with the job but I never saw the velux from the roof until now. This doesn’t look right to me but maybe I’m wrong. Is the gap between the window and roof tiles too big should there be something there? I don’t know what that timber is doing. It just looks unfinished to me.

    Hi, that gap looks fine:

The wood should not be there. Maybe it was left by mistake but it does look like they are using blocks to hold the tile-edges in on the right, but to support the tile at the top. The right-hand tile should probably be adhered on using weather proof adhesive, but the tile on the top should be able to stay in place without the block. If not, then there's something going on.
