Opening a pharmacy

    Hello!
I am looking into the possibility of opening a pharmacy in my village. I am a pharmacist myself 9+ years. There is a sole GP and possible nursing home up for grabs. The premises, which needs some renovation and shop-fitting has good parking and good location.. It belongs to my parents whom I would rent it from. There is no other pharmacy for 20km in all directions and it's a busy summer spot, although low population. Ideally I'd like to eventually employ another pharmacist once (if) profitable.

I understand that someone who has been through this process themselves may not be willing to divulge such on the internet but I just need a few pointers in the right direction. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated, many many thanks.

Does the GP currently have a dispensing contract? From when I was adjacent to this many years ago, this could cause friction with a new pharmacy - but was sometimes welcomed with open arms. It is a loss of income but with a consequent reduction in workload (and break-in risk) for the GP.
