Pioneer carrozzeria replacement for 2013 VW Up! (Japanese Import)

    Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a 2013 VW Up! (imported from Japan), which came equipped with a Pioneer carrozzeria ( head unit that only supports the Japanese language. I'm planning to replace this unit with something basic that offers English language support and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Additionally, the car has a reverse camera that currently functions with this existing Pioneer unit.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights from those with experience in this area regarding the following questions:

    1. What are the chances of finding a replacement head unit on Amazon or AliExpress with the same connector type as the current one? If I manage to find one, would everything work seamlessly after mounting the new unit? or requires some type of additional programming?
    2. If the connector type is obsolete or only used in JDM, and I need to replace it with a more "standard" Apple CarPlay unit, is this something I can tackle on my own? I'm not an expert in this field, but I have done various DIY fixes using YouTube tutorials. Should I give it a shot, or is it better to seek professional help?

Any other helpful advice or suggestions would be highly appreciated, even if accompanied by some good-natured snarky comments.Thank you in advance !
