I first fished Blessington lake at the age of 14 I fell in love with the joy of not knowing what I would catch each time I cast into this huge body of water, as the years past I was a member of a pike fishing club and we had many competitions on the lake. But now I find it almost impossible to fish since the election of the green fence that surrounds it, it's as if the ESB don't want bank anglers except in the car parks, they put up mounds of earth in any place you could park or borders and still expect you to pay €30 to fish for pike perch and roach which are not stocked in the lake, it's not a very welcoming lake.
