Extension cost: 115K (worth it? )

    Got a quote for extension to the existing home. Work includes:

    →  30 square meter extension to the back of the house. Includes a living room and a bedroom with attached Bath

    →  10 square meter garage conversion into bedroom

    → Porch extension

    → existing home ground floor under floor heating setup

    → bathroom renovation

    →  change tiles, wooden flooring and add glass railing

    → Living  room feature wall


    is 115K a fair price for this setup

    nobody can answer accurately based on the details above. But it seems pretty good based on limited info.

    The size of the existing house is a huge factor as it impacts the extent of UFH and new flooring. The spec of those items will too. As dies the feature wall. A feature wall can cost $0 extra by being a feature paint or CW timber or stone and cost thousands

    Its a good price. Lads here getting prices of 400k and 500k for similar.

    To be fair there is truth in what he says. Some of the figures quoted here previously of 300 to 400k for planning exemption extension plus some level of refurbishment in my opinion appeared to include 250k retirement bonus for the builder.

    Based on the very basic info, it appears fair as you could easily get to 80 without even looking at underfloor heating in the original area.

    completely agree, just found the post absolutely useless (I know pot kettle black). The OP was looking for guidance from people with experience and the general reply from gusser09 was of no value to anyone, pure pub talk with little factual information to back it up.
