Feature race in F3 will start shortly, final race of the season. Ireland's Alex Dunne starts P2.

Quick update on Alex Dunne from yesterday's sprint. Started 7th and fought his way up to 4th at the line however a 5 second penalty for 2nd place finisher Montoya promoted Alex to the podium in 3rd.

    This too shall pass.

Excellent race but Dunnes pace completely fell off. Great race between Fornaroli and Mini, Fornaroli just licking the stamp and sending it down the inside of parabolic to win the championship was fantastic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,485 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Holey Shamoley that was some racing. Sadly Alex didn't have the pace, did lead early on and I dared to dream Amhrán na bhFiann was coming but sadly not to be. P5 in the end as the championship leaders went through and had a great race.

    This too shall pass.

Its clearly a number of things - other teams making gains, much better drivers and clearly there is issues in RedBull (seems like a bit of **** show TBH).

Bringing Piastri on board was a master stroke by McClaren. I think it has pushed Lando on too.

But of a wild start to the F2 race. Will be interesting to see Bearman and Antonelli scrap it out.

F2 race. Bortoleto started last in 22nd position, and has now won the race with a 9 second gap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,350 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

Some drive from Bortoleto going from 22nd to 1st and winning by 9 seconds

Bortoleto got lucky with the safety car timing but he drove well - and has drived well all season. He is now with a chance for an F2 title. Will be interesting to see how McLaren handles him.

Decent race that. Soon as Will Buxton comes on the mic it’s time to turn it off though, Jesus he’s insufferable. 😁 Great win for Bortoleto, only 10.5 points behind Hadjar now, game on. Decent scrap between the Prema drivers too.

    Awe OK.

Yes maybe the wind tunnel ban is beginning g to bite now for Red Bull.

The Porsche Supercup race is currently on and it's bloody brilliant!

This was debunked as a conspiracy theory. The FIA confirmed that no team on the grid was running anything related to this change and it was changed to close off potential future loop holes.

The reason Red Bull have been falling behind is because of the handicapping system. For example, the other three top teams have specific Monza spec rear wings that they developed just for this track. Red Bull don’t have enough CFD and Wind Tunnel time to design an entire new wing just for one race so they’re just running their existing wing on its minimum downforce setting. This has resulted in them having a much lower top speed than the rest making it nearly impossible to be competitive at this circuit.

This was the intention of the new rules and the handicapping system, ultimately no team will be able to remain on top for long.

On the plus side for Red Bull, sacrificing Monza means they might not be quite as far behind the other teams on development capacity of the standard package going into the following races.

F3,F2 and Porsche cup have been fantastic races so hopefully the F1 is the same. Sky really love the idea of team orders to favour Norris

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,797 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Jesus brundle with the oasis references early.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,485 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Do you ever dream of a day where Sky Sports has to cover a Formula 1 season with no British drivers on the grid?

    This too shall pass.

Yes great idea. Hopefully it keeps it competitive.

I guess we will see at the next few races.

Chance of rain here. Could be a very interesting race!

A risk of rain which isn’t what I expected to hear.

    Russell locked up.

    ah Jesus Lando.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,350 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

    Go on Piastri!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,978 ✭✭✭Jacovs

Piastri way more ruthless than Norris. Half a gap, take it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,806 ✭✭✭quokula

Lando suffering the consequences of his petulant behaviour at Hungary here. He made it clear that he doesn't believe in team work so why should his teammate?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,350 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

I'm sure Mclaren will find a way to screw over Piastri

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,350 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

A 10 second penalty for a collision and causing a retirement is ridiculous

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,075 ✭✭✭Hijpo

Perez didn't have much on Russle even with DRS, that's crazy slow on a lengthened straight with DRS right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,131 ✭✭✭✭klose

Missed the start what happened Lando? Another poor start?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,797 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

No he got the pass done but it looked like he wasn’t going much faster then Russell.

    Christ Lando relax.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,797 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

ah that’s very unlucky for Danny ric. The mechanic just instinctively touched the car.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,075 ✭✭✭Hijpo

That's what I mean, I would have expected him to get that done way earlier. It's not like he came from a mile away he was 0.2s away when he opened DRS

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,105 ✭✭✭thefa

He got away cleanly and led after turn 1/2 but Piastri got the sliptstream and caught him napping into turn 4/5. Put him out of line and LeClerc got him too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,485 ✭✭✭✭flazio

KMag needs to be careful, he's close to a race ban if I remember.

    This too shall pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,131 ✭✭✭✭klose

one to keep an eye on, has it ever happened before?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,131 ✭✭✭✭klose

    Few messy pit stops today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,105 ✭✭✭thefa

Would love to see LeClerc hold onto this. Winning in front of the Tifosi would be great. Hope bringing him in earlier than they had to doesn’t cost him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,543 ✭✭✭sioda

Wont be a bit of rubber left on those Ferraris at the end.

    Good run by Colapinto tbh

I hate hearing that sh!te from Crofty and Brundle wanting Norris and Piastri to swap positions

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,731 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Jesus Crofty with more stupid suggestions asking should McLaren tell Piastri to let Norris by… So basically reward Norris’s mistakes then. Of course not, Piastri has been the better driver today.
    Come on LeClerc. 😁😁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,797 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

I think the fans in Monza will be happy. The best podium position in F1.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,731 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Lovely stuff! McLaren fecked that race up. 😂😂

    great win by Leclerc.

That was a sneaky chance taken by Ferrari. Accidentally on purpose they'll claim. Great win for LeClerc. Great points haul for both McLaren and Ferrari

Always happy when LeClerc wins. Classy driver who would have had a lot more wins but for the car. Usually switch off for the trophy presentation but this could be good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,797 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

only ten points in the constructor's championship between red bull and McLaren.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,593 ✭✭✭✭Dont be at yourself

Delighted for Charles, and hoping it's the sign of greater things to come for Ferrari.

McLaren still not realizing they are in the drivers championship unfortunately. Piastri overtaking Norris and then turning the first stint into a sprint instead of managing the Ferraris cost them victory. With Max down in 6th it's such a missed opportunity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭Longing

I did think before the start of the race when I heard the Italian national anthem would we be hearing it again today. Forza Ferrari.
