OnlyFans is registered in UK. Could it have been registered in Ireland?

    Hi,
I am working on a project, not cloning OnlyFans obviously and I am evaluating not prohibiting adult content and allowing it by safe-guards and with necessary checks, age verifications etc.

It becomes a similar entity to OnlyFans in terms of business category if it processes online payments.

I read the below thread (all the way below), it seems all possible when done right and not shady, obviously.
I also saw this news, so the giant P0rnHub's one of subdivisons is operating in Dublin..? https://www.independent.ie/business/irish/new-irish-auditors-appointed-to-dublin-unit-of-global-pornography-business/a1551356231.html

I am curious, would anyone have any advice on some extra steps to take, some caution advice, other just go ahead and register an Ltd maybe with a postal address forwarding for the added safety?

Or, another way of asking, if adult content is allowed with necessary warnings before viewing, the content is reviewed after only uploaded by verified people, what can go wrong?

Caveat: This is not legal advice and you should talk to a professional adviser

As long as a business is not doing anything that breaks Irish law then why wouldn't you set it up here?

A lot of Irish online businesses used to ban any form of "mature" content completely, but there's very little in Irish law right now.

However there is a bunch of regulation coming down the track via the DSA and https://www.cnam.ie/ which you would need to be aware of if you're doing anything involving video

Ireland is still quite parochial and there is still a shock factor with anything "adult" - when we started selling .xxx domain names years back some of the media coverage was just a tad inflammatory :)

    Michele
